Ceramic abrasive media are particularly suitable for machining hard materials, such as steel, but are also ideal for deburring aluminum components. Thanks to their higher weight, they exert increased pressure on the workpiece, ensuring excellent grinding performance. Compared to plastic media, ceramic media are significantly more durable and cost-effective.
When selecting the appropriate abrasive media, finding the optimal combination of grinding performance, surface finish, geometry, and size is crucial.
- Triangles & triangle-angle cut (D & DS): Perfect for deburring due to their edges, but also reach a variety of complex areas on the workpiece.
- Tridents (DZ): Also access difficult-to-reach areas, such as grooves or gears.
- Cylinders & cylinder-angle cut (Z & ZS): Their round shape makes them ideal for achieving a uniform surface finish during applications like polishing. Their slim design also makes cylinders easy to separate.
- Ellipses & ellipse-angle cut (E & ES): Also suitable for polishing and smoothing; thanks to their corners, they can reach deeper sections of the workpiece.
- Wings (W): Combine the advantages of triangles and tridents. Their 'wings' allow access to complex areas, while their compact shape and edges are ideal for deburring, applying good pressure to the workpiece.
