APPLICATION
For clamping, rotating, and tilting workpieces with round cross-sections during manual or automatic welding, primarily in pipeline construction (prefabrication and on-site assembly) as well as in apparatus engineering. Alongside a high degree of efficiency (eliminates the need for an assistant and interruptions when rotating segments), there are also qualitative improvements: no weld seam interruptions, consistently optimal welding position.
DESCRIPTION
The stator, constructed as a solid-walled design, houses both the electrical control system and the tilting drive. Tilting is manual via hand crank (U 150 and U 500), (electromechanical tilting is standard for U 1000); for U 500, tilt angle is approx. 135°. Electromechanical tilting is also optionally available. The tiltable section includes the drive and roller housing, clamping column, clamping arm, and clamping roller. The unit is also available in a non-tiltable version under the model designations U 150 H, U 500 H, and U 1000 H. In general, with all U-series machines, the drive and electrical control are securely housed within the stand or roller housing.
