The Semmelroth S 50229/2 is a fully automatic, industrial continuous cleaning system in a timed linear design. It was specifically developed for the demanding cleaning of parts and surface preparation of aluminum and cast parts in industrial multi-shift operations. The system is completely made of stainless steel to ensure maximum corrosion resistance and durability when using aqueous cleaning media.

System and Conveyor Technology

Zone Layout and Process Steps
The system goes through a five-stage process chain to meet the highest requirements for particulate and film-like surface cleanliness:
- HD cleaning zone (high pressure): Mechanical pre-cleaning using high-pressure nozzles for targeted removal of chips, machining residues, and stubborn contaminants.
- Cleaning zone (washing): Aqueous main cleaning (spraying/flooding) for chemical degreasing and removal of dirt from the surface.
- Rinsing zone: Downstream rinsing stage for residue-free removal of cleaning agent components from the component surfaces.
- Drying zone: Highly efficient blowing and drying unit for complete removal of residual moisture (prevents staining and corrosion).
- Cooling zone: Targeted component cooling at the end of the process to thermally stabilize the parts for subsequent processes (e.g., metrology, testing, or packaging).

Media preparation, filtration, and peripherals
To ensure long bath life and consistent cleaning quality, the system is equipped with extensive peripheral technology:
- Filtration: Three separate filtration stages (each designed for up to 10 bar) for the cleaning, rinsing, and high-pressure zones.
- Filter monitoring: Dual differential pressure measurement for automatic detection of the filter saturation level. Oil separation: 1x highly efficient oil separator (Type ÖT 60) for continuous removal of foreign oils from the washing bath.
- Exhaust air management: 1x air-cooled condenser (Type RL 150) for condensation and extraction of process fumes (reduces humidity at the installation site).
- Fluid management: Integrated wastewater piping for cleaning and rinsing tanks, including a robust 1" wastewater pump for emptying.

Safety and System Monitoring
- Process control: Two integrated viewing windows with splash-proof interior lighting for optical monitoring of the cleaning process during operation.
- Environmental protection / emergency protection: Robust drip tray under the entire system, equipped with a leak detection probe for automatic shutdown in the event of media loss.
