The Schmedt PräForm Neo is a combined book press and joint setting machine used in bookbinding. It is designed to press hardcover books immediately after the book block has been cased into the cover, while simultaneously burning in and shaping a clean, permanent joint (the hinge groove of the book).

Key Features and Functions

- 2-Way System: The mechanical pressing of the book surfaces and the pneumatic (compressed-air controlled) joint setting occur sequentially.

- Heated Components: The machine features heated light-alloy pressing plates as well as heated joint-forming bars.

- Adjustable Pressure: The pressure of the joint-forming bars can be adjusted via a pneumatic regulator, independently of the general book pressing force.

- Flexibility: It is suitable for single books as well as short to medium production runs, processing various cover materials such as cloth or laminated paper.

- Combination: It is specifically designed to be used alongside casing-in machines like the Schmedt PräLeg Neo.
