Grooving rollers: The thread rolling tools with the same pitch as the workpiece
form the thread by penetrating into the workpiece up to the nominal diameter.
The thread length is maximum as long as the rolling tools are wide.

Continuous rolling: When the thread length is greater than the rolling tool width.
Through-feed tools have 3 sections - the infeed, the calibration section and the outfeed.
Grooved rollers have no pitch and are swiveled with the pitch angle of the profile to be rolled.

Pitch rollers differ from grooved rollers in that they have a pitch in the profile.
The sum of the pitch angle and the swivel angle gives the pitch angle in the workpiece.
