Multivac Sous-videuse C500

The Multivac C500 vacuum packaging machine packages food products in vacuum bags. Its dual-chamber design allows the operator to load one chamber while the second chamber completes the packaging cycle. This setup improves workflow continuity and reduces waiting times between cycles.

The machine is suitable for meat processing plants, delicatessen shops, cheese factories, industrial kitchens, and manufacturers of ready meals. It can package fresh or processed meat cuts, processed meat products, cheeses, prepared dishes, and other products compatible with bag packaging.

How does the Multivac C500 work?

The operator places the product in a bag and then positions the opening on the sealing bar. They then move the tilting lid towards the loaded chamber. The pump removes the air from the bag and the chamber. When the machine reaches the programmed vacuum level, it seals the bag before gradually reintroducing air into the chamber.

This process limits the amount of oxygen around the product, protecting the food from oxidation, dehydration, and external contamination. It also facilitates storage, ripening, transport, and the organization of the various production stages. However, the shelf life depends on the product, the bag, the temperature, and the hygiene regulations applied by the user.

Dual chamber and bag sealing

The C500 has two chambers and a moving lid. This configuration allows for quick alternation between the two work areas. The MULTIVAC documentation also indicates two sealing bars of 650 mm per chamber.

The manufacturer offers several sealing systems depending on the configuration: single sealing, double sealing, or sealing with trimming of the bag excess. The machine presented should therefore be visually inspected to precisely identify the installed system. Similarly, the vacuum pump plate will confirm its model and actual capacity.

Integration into a packaging line

The Multivac C500 vacuum packaging machine can operate as a stand-alone machine. It can also be integrated into a line including preparation tables, conveyors, a shrink tank, or a labeling area.

Vacuum packaging helps manufacturers standardize their packaging and better protect products between production and shipment. For shrink bags, a shrink tank can complement the machine to tighten the film around the product. MULTIVAC also offers several accessories to facilitate filling and handling of the bags.
