Description:

The machine concept is extremely straightforward. The workpiece is placed into the machine. A quickly adjustable stop with pneumatic locking mechanism centers the workpiece within the machine. Upon foot pedal activation, the workpiece is pneumatically clamped and automatically conveyed to the drilling unit (30 m/min).

Vertical spindles drill from below, ensuring that chips do not remain on the workpiece as they would on conventional machining centers. The horizontal spindles work on two sides of the workpiece.

The workpiece length can be unlimited, as it is moved toward the drilling unit (X-axis). The drilling spindles, either individually or in a group, are freely programmable and move along the Y-axis. Drill depth and horizontal drilling operations are managed by the Z-axis.

After all drilling operations are completed, the workpiece is conveyed back to the insertion side or, if desired, to the discharge side.

Unlike conventional machining centers, where the workpiece is clamped using vacuum pods that need to be adjusted to the workpiece size, this step is completely eliminated with the 3-axis controlled point-to-point drilling machine.
