This is a thermoforming machine (deep-draw machine) for the production of vacuum-packed or MAP-packed food. It is designed for medium-sized production lines and is often used for meat, cold cuts, cheese, fish, and ready meals.
How the JuniorPak M420 works
1. Bottom film feeding
A roll of plastic film is mounted at the rear of the machine. The film is drawn forward using conveyor chains with grippers.

2. Heating
The bottom film enters the heating zone.
Here, the plastic is heated to approximately:
90–140 °C, depending on the material type.
The temperature is controlled by electric heating plates.

3. Deep drawing
This is the machine's most important process.
The mold closes.
Then, usually:
vacuum is applied under the film
compressed air is applied above the film, if required
the film is drawn down into the mold
The result is finished plastic containers or trays.
The forming depth is determined by the mold.
4. Filling zone
After forming, the process stops.
Operators or automatic equipment place the product in the trays.
Examples:
meat
burgers
bacon
cheese
fish
5. Top film
A new film is fed in from above.
This lies over the product.
6. Vacuum/MAP
The sealing chamber closes.
The machine can:
create a vacuum
flush with gas
seal directly
In MAP, the following are often used:
CO₂
N₂
O₂
The gas mixture depends on the product.
7. Sealing
The top film is sealed to the bottom film.
Sealing occurs with:
temperature
pressure
time
These three parameters are crucial for a tight seal.
8. Cutting
The cutting tool cuts each individual package.
Excess film is transported out as scrap.
9. Ejection
Finished packages are transported out onto a conveyor belt.
They can then:
be labeled
be weighed
be checked with a metal detector
be packed in boxes
