As the largest gravure printing group in Europe, Prinovis specializes in tailored communication solutions centered around its core business of printing. In addition, Prinovis offers finishing and creative services as well as digital communication solutions. Prinovis operates production sites in Ahrensburg, Dresden, Itzehoe (until 04/2014), Liverpool, and Nuremberg, employing around 3,800 staff. Prinovis was founded in 2005 as a merger of the gravure printing operations of arvato (Bertelsmann), Axel Springer, and Gruner + Jahr. Currently, Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA directly holds 74.9 percent of the shares. Axel Springer AG owns the remaining 25.1 percent. Prinovis is part of Be Printers, the alliance of Bertelsmann’s printing activities.
